Terms & Conditions

 Yorkshire Food Finder’s Terms and Conditions need to be accepted by you before a booking for a culinary trail or other service provided by us can be made. Please read them carefully as we wish to minimise the risk of any misunderstanding with you, our client. 

Acceptance of these terms and conditions constitutes a contract under English law between you the purchaser and Yorkshire Food Finder Ltd whose registered office is Toft Acres, 89 Back Lane South, Wheldrake, York, YO19 6DT and company registration number is 7850110. Reference in these Terms and Conditions to “Yorkshire Food Finder”, “us” or “we” refers to Yorkshire Food Finder Ltd. 

 

Accessibility 

A number of our trails involve farm visits where ground is uneven and where some distance will be travelled on foot and/or visits a facility where access may otherwise be restricted. Therefore, if you or a person for which you are booking a culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder is of reduced mobility, blind or partially sighted you must contact us before making a booking so that we can confirm whether the culinary trail or other service is accessible all or in part. 

 

Dietary requirements 

Yorkshire Food Finder should be advised of special dietary requirements and allergies at the time of booking or when redeeming a gift certificate. Where this is not possible, written advice must be sent to us in writing no later than 24 hours prior to the start of a culinary trail or other service provided by us. 

 

When you must pay Yorkshire Food Finder 

Fees for the culinary trails organised and other services provided by Yorkshire Food Finder are payable in full at the time of booking unless prior agreement in writing has been provided to you by Yorkshire Food Finder. When Yorkshire Food Finder agrees to revised payment terms in writing, the amended terms constitute a revision to our standard Terms and Conditions and thus our contract with you. 

 

Should you need to cancel or amend your booking with Yorkshire Food Finder 

If you wish to cancel your booking with Yorkshire Food Finder, the following refunds will be made: 

  • More than 42 days before the event – You may transfer your booking to another culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder without any administration charge, subject to you agreeing to pay any extra charges applicable to the replacement trail or service. 

  • Between 42 and seven days before the event – Yorkshire Food Finder will use reasonable endeavours to fill the places you wish to cancel. If we are successful, you will be able to transfer to another trail or other service as if you were seeking to cancel your booking more than 42 days before the event (see above). Should we be unable to re-sell the trail places or other service or if you wish to cancel before this is known, an administration charge of £25 will be deducted by Yorkshire Food Finder for each person to which the cancellation by you applies. 

  • Less than seven days before the event – No refund is payable to you or transfer to another trail or service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder is permitted. 

 

Should you wish to transfer your booking with Yorkshire Food Finder to another person, this is permitted so long as you advise us of the name, contact details and any applicable dietary requirements of the substitute person(s) at least 24 hours in advance of the start of the culinary trail or provision of other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

If you are ill or the illness of a close relative prevents you taking up your place(s) on a culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder we will, at our discretion consider varying our cancellation policy as set out above. 

The cancellation terms set out above also apply to gift certificates sold to you by Yorkshire Food Finder.

 

Additionally, gift certificates will have no value if the person(s) holding the certificates do not make a booking for a culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder within six months of the gift certificate being issued or other expiry date endorsed by Yorkshire Food Finder on the gift certificate when it is first issued. If we are advised at the time of booking that a gift certificate is a Christmas or birthday present we will endorse the gift certificate with a date six months from the next Christmas Day or birthday date subject to this being no later than nine months from the date on which you purchase the gift certificate(s) from Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

If Yorkshire Food Finder needs to cancel or amend the booking 

Yorkshire Food Finder will use reasonable endeavours to provide culinary trails and other services on the dates and at times advised to you when we confirm your booking. If it is necessary for us to cancel a culinary trail or provision of another service, Yorkshire Food Finder may do so subject to us offering you a refund of all fees paid. If we cancel an event, you may, at your discretion, transfer your booking to an alternate culinary trail or event subject to the payment of additional charges applicable to the alternate. Where the alternate trail or other service has a lower price than that Yorkshire Food Finder has had to cancel, a refund of the difference between the fee applicable to the trail booked and the alternate trail or other service is payable to you by Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

If Yorkshire Food Finder has to materially amend a culinary trail or other service, it will advise you of the changes necessary and provide you with the option of accepting the revised culinary trail or other service; or, transferring your booking to another culinary trail or service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder; or, to take a refund of fees already paid by you. 

 

Yorkshire Food Finder accepts no liability for any consequential losses you may incur as a result of its decision to cancel or amend a culinary trail or other service. Therefore you should take out appropriate insurance to protect you from such losses. 

 

On the day 

All those booked on a Yorkshire Food Finder culinary trail or other service must use reasonable endeavours to arrive at the advertised venue no later than the start time advised when we confirm your booking or where a gift certificate is concerned the start time advised to the person redeeming. Should you, or the person who has redeemed a gift certificate, advise Yorkshire Food Finder on the telephone number given by us when we confirm the booking that those attending are delayed by circumstances beyond their control, Yorkshire Food Finder will at its discretion consider delaying the start of the trail or other service by no more than 30 minutes. 

 

Those partaking of a culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder must comply with health and safety requirements or other instructions of Yorkshire Food Finder and those made by persons controlling the premises or providing the transport used in connection with culinary trails and other services provided by Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

Specifically, Yorkshire Food Finder will require those joining some of the culinary trails and partaking of other services provided by Yorkshire Food Finder to self-certify that they have not suffered from any sickness and/or diarrhoea within the 48 hours prior to the start of a culinary trail or provision of other service. When sickness and/or diarrhoea has occurred within 48 hours before the start of the culinary trail or other service or when a person declines to self-certify, that person will be excluded from the culinary trail and no refund will be payable. We therefore advise you take out appropriate insurance. The trails to which self-certification will apply will be advised at the time of booking or in the case of a gift certificate being purchased, when that certificate is redeemed by the holder of the certificate selecting a trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

In the unlikely event that those participating in a culinary trail or other service provided by Yorkshire Food Finder conduct themselves in a manner unacceptable to Yorkshire Food Finder, they will be orally warned as to their future conduct and may be required to leave the culinary trail or other service. Should this occur, Yorkshire Food Finder accepts no liability for the provision of transport back to the location at which the culinary trail or other service began. 

 

Liability 

Yorkshire Food Finder advises you and those you have booked on culinary trails, including those holding gift certificates, not to bring uninsured items of special value on culinary trails or other events as the company accepts no liability for the loss or damage of such items. 

Yorkshire Food Finder will not be liable for any consequential losses suffered by you and those booked on culinary trails or other services. Yorkshire Food Finder will not be liable for any loss incurred when that loss is beyond the reasonable control of Yorkshire Food Finder. 

 

Insurance 

Yorkshire Food Finder advises you to take out appropriate insurance to cover loss of fees paid for culinary trails and other services provided by Yorkshire Food Finder whether through illness, personal accident or other cause; and, to cover other consequential losses you may incur (for example, travel or accommodation booked with a third party). 

 

Your privacy 

Yorkshire Food Finder will not share with third parties your contact details or other personal information without your prior consent unless by law we are required to provide it. Similarly, where you provide contact details for the recipient of a gift certificate, we will not share these details with third parties without the prior consent of this person unless by law we are required to provide it.  

 

If you have asked to be added to our mailing list so that we can keep you informed of forthcoming Yorkshire Food Finder culinary trails and other services, we will from time-to-time contact you by email. Should you wish to be removed from our email contact list, you should send an email to aidan@yorkshirefoodfinder.org requesting this. 

 

Using the Yorkshire Food Finder website 

The content of this website may be changed without notice. 

We take care to ensure that information provided on the Yorkshire Food Finder website is correct. However, no warranty or guarantee of accuracy is given and no liability for any inaccuracy is accepted. As a user of this site it is your responsibility to check with us before making a booking that a culinary trail or other service provided by us meets your specific requirements.
